Shoulder Season
What is Shoulder Season?
Shoulder Season refers to the transitional period between a destination’s high (peak) season and low (off-peak) season when travel demand decreases. This results in lower airfare, discounted hotel rates, and better availability of travel services compared to peak travel times.
For corporate travelers, booking during shoulder season can significantly reduce business travel expenses while still allowing employees to travel comfortably. The weather during shoulder season is often still pleasant, making it a cost-effective yet convenient time for meetings, conferences, or work retreats.
Destinations have different shoulder seasons based on their climate and tourism patterns. For example, Europe’s shoulder season typically falls in spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October), while beach destinations may experience it in early summer or late fall before extreme temperatures or holiday surges.
